People with disabilities make up about 16% of the world population, an estimated 1.3 billion people. According to recent reports, 80% of them live in developing countries. The World Health Organization (WHO) projects that this number will continue to rise due to an ageing population and the increasing prevalence of non-communicable diseases. These statistics highlight the urgent need for businesses to integrate this segment of the population into the workforce, rather than marginalising them.
